You know your material.
You have valuable experience, strong ideas, and a message worth sharing.
But when it is time to stand in front of a room, something changes.
Your heart starts beating faster. You worry that you will forget what you planned to say. You grip your notes a little more tightly than you intended. You focus so hard on remembering the words that it becomes difficult to connect with the people in front of you.
Or perhaps you already speak regularly, but you know your delivery could feel more natural, confident, and commanding.
Public speaking confidence does not come from memorizing a longer script or adding more words to your slides. It comes from learning how to trust your message, manage your nervous energy, and practice delivering in an environment where you can receive useful feedback.
That is exactly what we created the Speaking Your Brand® In-Person Speaking Accelerator for Women in Orlando to provide.
Held on October 29, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Citrus Club in downtown Orlando, this one-day public speaking workshop is limited to 15 women so every participant has meaningful opportunities to practice, receive coaching, and develop her own speaking style.
Who Is This Orlando Public Speaking Workshop For?
This workshop is designed for women entrepreneurs, executives, consultants, experts, nonprofit leaders, sales professionals, and aspiring thought leaders who want to become more confident and effective speakers.
You may be preparing for:
- A keynote or conference presentation
- A leadership or executive presentation
- A workshop or training session
- A sales presentation
- A podcast interview
- A panel discussion
- A TEDx-style talk
- A networking introduction
- A client meeting
- A media appearance
You do not need to consider yourself a professional speaker.
You also do not need to arrive with a finished presentation.
Some attendees come because they have an upcoming speaking engagement and want to feel prepared. Others come because they are ready to become more visible but know that public speaking nerves are holding them back. Some are experienced presenters who want to improve their storytelling, delivery, or stage presence.
What they have in common is a desire to speak with greater confidence, authenticity, and impact.
How Can Women Build Confidence in Public Speaking?
Many people assume that confident speakers were simply born that way.
They were not.
Confidence is built through preparation, practice, repetition, and feedback.
You cannot think your way into becoming a confident speaker. At some point, you have to stand up, try something, notice what happens, adjust, and try again.
That is why our Orlando speaking workshop is highly interactive.
This is not a day of sitting in a ballroom while someone lectures you about eye contact and gestures. You will actively work on your message and delivery. You will practice in front of a supportive group. You will receive encouraging, specific coaching that helps you understand what is already working and what will make you stronger.
During the afternoon, each participant has the opportunity to take the stage, practice her story, and receive in-the-moment feedback. The purpose is not to evaluate or critique you. It is to help you experience yourself becoming more comfortable, clear, and expressive in real time.
Confidence grows when you stop wondering, “Can I do this?” and begin collecting evidence that you can.
How Do You Get Past Public Speaking Nerves?
The goal is not necessarily to eliminate every nervous feeling.
A little nervous energy means that you care about what you are doing. It can also make you more alert and energized.
The problem occurs when nerves take over your attention.
Instead of thinking about the audience, you start monitoring yourself:
- Do I look nervous?
- Am I talking too fast?
- What comes next?
- What if I forget something?
- What should I do with my hands?
- Can everyone tell that my heart is racing?
The more you focus on yourself, the harder it becomes to connect with the room.
During the workshop, we help you redirect your attention away from performing perfectly and toward communicating meaningfully.
You will learn how to:
- Ground yourself before you begin speaking
- Use breathing and movement to release nervous energy
- Slow down without sounding stiff
- Pause without panicking
- Recover when you lose your train of thought
- Focus on your audience rather than on yourself
- Use your natural personality instead of trying to imitate another speaker
- Become more comfortable taking up space
You will also practice in a room filled with other women who understand exactly what it feels like to stretch beyond your comfort zone.
That supportive environment matters.
One past attendee shared that after repeatedly practicing in front of the coaches and the group, she became more comfortable in her own skin, moved more freely around the room, and allowed more of her personality to come through.
Public speaking confidence is not created by waiting until you feel fearless. It is created by learning that you can speak effectively even when you feel some fear.
How Can You Speak Without Notes or a Script?
One of the most common questions we hear is:
“How can I stop relying on my notes when I speak?”
The answer is not to memorize every sentence.
In fact, memorization often creates more anxiety. When you are trying to recall an exact sequence of words, forgetting one phrase can make you feel as though the entire presentation has disappeared.
Instead, we teach speakers how to internalize the structure and meaning of what they want to say.
When you understand:
- Your central idea
- The purpose of the presentation
- The major sections
- The stories you want to tell
- The points you want the audience to remember
- The action you want them to take
—you no longer need to remember every word.
You know where you are going.
During the workshop, you will learn techniques for organizing and practicing your message so that you can speak more conversationally. The goal is not to deliver identical wording every time. The goal is to communicate the same meaning with confidence and clarity.
Our workshop specifically includes techniques for speaking without notes and building confidence through supportive storytelling and delivery practice.
A past attendee, physician and TEDx speaker Dr. Nicole Rochester, said that because of the experience, she no longer needed to rely on her notes when speaking. She also became more comfortable with storytelling and more confident about raising her speaking fees.
Speaking without notes does not mean showing up unprepared.
It means preparing differently.
How Do You Improve Your Stage Presence?
Stage presence is not about being louder, more theatrical, or more extroverted.
It is the ability to hold the room while remaining connected to yourself, your message, and your audience.
A speaker with strong stage presence appears grounded and purposeful. She is not rushing to get through the presentation. She is willing to pause. She uses her voice and body intentionally. She allows the audience time to absorb what she is saying.
During the workshop, we work on several elements of speaking delivery and executive presence.
Voice
You will explore how vocal variety can help you emphasize ideas, communicate emotion, and keep your audience engaged.
This includes:
- Pace
- Pauses
- Volume
- Emphasis
- Energy
- Vocal variety
A presentation delivered in one steady tone can make even excellent content difficult to follow. Your voice helps your audience understand what matters.
Movement
Many speakers either remain frozen in one position or pace without realizing it.
We help you use movement with intention.
You will practice:
- Standing with greater stability
- Moving to support a transition
- Using the available stage or room
- Avoiding distracting pacing
- Allowing gestures to feel natural
- Becoming more comfortable taking up space
Eye Contact
Eye contact is not about rapidly scanning the room.
It is about creating moments of genuine connection.
You will learn to slow down and speak to people rather than speaking toward a general blur of faces.
Presence
Presence is difficult to define, but audiences can feel it.
It comes from being fully engaged rather than mentally rushing ahead to the next point.
The workshop’s stage-delivery session addresses voice, movement, and presence through practical exercises designed to help participants feel more confident and in command.
Why Storytelling Makes You a More Confident Speaker
Many women try to become better speakers by adding more information.
They research more statistics. Create more slides. Add more examples. Write more detailed notes.
But more content does not necessarily create more connection.
In fact, too much information can make you feel less confident because you are trying to remember and deliver so much.
Storytelling gives your presentation shape.
A story provides a natural sequence:
Something happened. There was a challenge, decision, realization, or change. You learned something. That lesson connects to the audience.
Because stories follow a progression, they are easier to remember and easier to tell naturally than a dense collection of facts or bullet points.
Stories also help your audience see you as a person, not just as a source of information.
During the workshop, you will create or refine a business or personal brand story that you can use in presentations, podcast interviews, marketing, and thought leadership. You will learn how to make your story compelling, connect it to your larger message, and deliver it in a way that invites your audience to lean in.
What Happens During the One-Day Speaking Workshop?
The In-Person Speaking Accelerator combines instruction, reflection, conversation, movement, practice, and coaching.
Arrival, Networking, and Breakfast
You will begin the day by getting to know the other women in the room over a light breakfast.
This is not forced networking or an exchange-business-cards-as-fast-as-possible situation.
The group is intentionally small so participants can build real connections throughout the day.
Welcome and Introductions
We begin with an interactive activity that helps everyone become comfortable speaking and participating early in the day.
You will not spend the first three hours worrying about when it will finally be your turn.
Craft Your Brand Story
Using our storytelling framework, you will shape a business or personal story into a compelling narrative that feels natural to you.
This is a story you may use:
- In a keynote
- At the beginning of a workshop
- During a podcast interview
- In a sales presentation
- On your website
- In a leadership presentation
- When introducing yourself or your work
Learn Stage Delivery Skills
We then move from what you are saying to how you are delivering it.
Through practical exercises, you will work on voice, movement, body language, confidence, and stage presence.
Yes, you will be moving.
No, you will not be required to perform a dramatic monologue from Shakespeare. We have limits.
Lunch and Conversation
A healthy lunch is included, along with time to connect with the other attendees and coaches.
Practice on Stage and Receive Coaching
The afternoon is devoted to practice.
You will deliver your story or presentation segment on stage and receive immediate feedback from Speaking Your Brand® coaches Carol Cox and Diane Diaz.
You will also learn by watching the other women speak. Seeing a variety of speaking styles helps you recognize that there is no single way a confident woman is supposed to sound or look.
Create Your Visibility Plan
At the end of the day, you will identify your next steps and create a plan for using what you developed.
That may include pitching yourself for podcasts, preparing for an upcoming presentation, incorporating your story into a keynote, or seeking new speaking opportunities.
The complete workshop day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with breakfast, lunch, stage-delivery training, on-stage practice, coaching, and a visibility-planning session.

Is This Workshop Only for Beginners?
No.
The workshop is useful for women at different stages of their speaking journey.
A newer speaker may focus on calming her nerves, organizing her ideas, and becoming comfortable speaking in front of a group.
An experienced speaker may focus on:
- Becoming less dependent on slides
- Adding more storytelling
- Refining an existing keynote
- Improving vocal variety
- Using movement more purposefully
- Developing a stronger emotional connection with the audience
- Allowing more personality to come through
- Preparing to pursue higher-level or paid speaking opportunities
Past participant Katie Anderson attended as an already established consultant, author, and international keynote speaker. She described the experience as being filled with practice, iteration, and community and used it as part of developing a new keynote with more storytelling.
Strong speakers continue practicing because they understand that speaking is not a finish line. It is a craft.
Why Is This Public Speaking Workshop Specifically for Women?
Women often face a complicated set of expectations when they speak publicly.
We are expected to be confident but not intimidating. Authoritative but still likable. Polished but not overly rehearsed. Accomplished but not self-promotional.
These contradictory expectations can make women second-guess themselves before they ever step onto a stage.
A women-centered speaking environment creates room to work through those patterns.
You can practice taking up space without apologizing.
You can tell a meaningful story without immediately minimizing its importance.
You can experiment with your voice and movement without feeling that you are being compared to a narrow model of what leadership is supposed to look like.
You can receive encouragement and candid feedback from women who want to see you succeed.
Past attendees frequently describe the importance of the community itself. One participant said the group gave her a safe space to share her story more vulnerably and expand beyond her usual comfort zone.
Who Leads the Workshop?
The workshop is led by Carol Cox and Diane Diaz of Speaking Your Brand®.
Carol Cox is the founder and CEO of Speaking Your Brand®, host of the Speaking Your Brand® podcast, and a speaking coach who has worked with TEDxOrlando speakers since 2017. Her work focuses on women’s leadership, storytelling, thought leadership, and communication. She has been featured in Forbes, appears as a political analyst on television during election seasons, and was named one of Orlando’s Women of the Year.
Diane Diaz is the lead speaking coach at Speaking Your Brand®. She brings more than two decades of experience in marketing, branding, teaching, storytelling, and personal-brand strategy. She helps women find their voices, strengthen their confidence, and communicate with greater clarity and impact.
Together, we combine strategy with practical delivery coaching.
We do not simply tell you to “be more confident.” We help you understand what to do with your content, voice, body, stories, and attention so confidence becomes something you can practice.
What Results Can You Expect?
By the end of the day, you can expect to have:
- A clearer and more compelling story
- Greater confidence in your speaking ability
- Practical tools for managing public speaking nerves
- Techniques for speaking without relying on a full script
- More intentional vocal delivery and movement
- Experience practicing in front of a live audience
- Personalized feedback from speaking coaches
- A stronger understanding of your natural speaking style
- A plan for using your story in future presentations
- New relationships with other women entrepreneurs and leaders
You may still feel nervous before your next presentation.
But instead of interpreting those nerves as proof that you are not ready, you will have tools for working with them.
You will know how to prepare.
You will know how to structure your message.
You will know how to reconnect with your audience if you lose your place.
Most importantly, you will have the experience of seeing yourself stand up, speak, adjust, and improve.

Frequently Asked Questions About Public Speaking Confidence
Can public speaking confidence really improve in one day?
One day will not replace continued practice, but an immersive day can create a meaningful shift. You receive instruction, practice immediately, get feedback, make adjustments, and practice again. That concentrated experience can help you progress more quickly than passively consuming speaking tips over several months.
What if I get extremely nervous speaking in front of people?
You will not be the only one. The workshop is designed to provide a supportive progression rather than throwing you onto a stage without preparation. You will participate in smaller exercises, learn delivery techniques, build familiarity with the group, and then practice your story.
Will I have to memorize a speech?
No. We do not recommend memorizing an entire presentation word for word. You will learn how to organize and internalize your message so you can speak conversationally without depending on a complete script.
What if I do not know what story to tell?
We will guide you through a framework to identify and develop a story connected to your business, leadership, expertise, or personal brand. You do not need to arrive with a polished story.
What if I already have a presentation?
Bring it. You can use the workshop to refine a story or section from an existing keynote, workshop, sales presentation, or leadership talk.
Is this workshop appropriate for experienced speakers?
Yes. Experienced speakers can use the day to strengthen storytelling, stage presence, movement, vocal variety, audience connection, and confidence with less reliance on notes or slides.
Do I need to be an entrepreneur?
No. The workshop is also relevant for executives, nonprofit leaders, consultants, sales professionals, subject-matter experts, and women preparing for greater leadership visibility.
Will I receive individual feedback?
Yes. The workshop is intentionally limited to 15 attendees so participants can practice and receive live coaching.
Are meals included?
Yes. A light breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included.
Where is the workshop held?
The workshop takes place at the Citrus Club in Downtown Orlando, Florida.
Your Voice Does Not Need to Be Perfect to Be Powerful
Many women wait to pursue speaking opportunities until they feel completely confident.
But confidence usually arrives after we begin, not before.
It grows each time you speak despite the nerves.
Each time you trust yourself enough to look up from your notes.
Each time you pause instead of rushing.
Each time you tell a story that helps someone feel seen.
Each time you take up a little more space.
You do not need to become a different person to become a stronger speaker.
You need the tools, practice, and support to become more fully yourself in front of an audience.
That is what the Speaking Your Brand® In-Person Speaking Accelerator is designed to help you do.
You may walk in with strong ideas and a few nerves.
You will walk out with a clearer message, practical speaking skills, and greater confidence in your ability to deliver it.
